The Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, have been sighted in Northern Utah recently due to a "burp" from the sun. While not rare, it is unusual to see them in this area. The Space Weather Prediction Center offers an aurora forecast on their website, and the best viewing times are near the Spring and Fall equinoxes. However, we don't want the sun's flares to be too powerful, as it could cause damage to our satellites and technology.
