Ukraine Expands Drone Reach to Hit Russian Logistics Behind Frontlines
Ukraine is using medium-range attack drones to strike Russian military traffic up to 300 kilometers behind the front, targeting supply hubs, depots and vehicles to disrupt logistics and expand Kyiv’s attack envelope. Operators can equip drones with Starlink for deep penetrations into occupied territory, calling these missions “free hunting.” Experts say the drones fill a gap between short-range FPV swarms and deep long-range strikes, pressuring Russia’s rear areas, which lack a robust defense network in the so-called middle zone and are harder to defend with stretched air resources.
