Antisemitic incidents in Florida surged in 2022, with the state recording the highest annual number of such incidents ever recorded in the Anti-Defamation League’s annual Audit of Antisemitic Incidents. The number of incidents increased 41.5% in Florida to 269 last year compared to the year before, with the state’s total being more than triple the 76 recorded in 2018. The incidents were more bold, egregious and attention-grabbing, with many directly linked to events in the news. The rise in antisemitic activity outside of South Florida was fueled by a significant increase in the distribution of hateful propaganda.
