"Urgent Toyota Recall: 50,000 U.S. Vehicle Owners Warned to Halt Driving for Airbag Repairs"
Toyota is urging the owners of 50,000 older U.S. vehicles to immediately get recall repairs due to potentially deadly Takata air bag inflators. The advisory covers certain 2003-2004 Corolla, Corolla Matrix, and 2004-2005 RAV4 models, with more than 30 deaths worldwide linked to these inflators. This is part of the largest auto safety callback in history, with over 67 million Takata air bag inflators recalled in the U.S. by more than 20 automakers. Other automakers like Stellantis and Honda have also issued similar warnings due to fatalities related to faulty Takata air bag inflators.
