Biden's Tech Hub Initiative Expands to 32 States and Puerto Rico
President Joe Biden has designated 31 technology hubs across 32 states and Puerto Rico to promote innovation and job creation in various industries. Two of these hubs are located in Missouri: the Critical Minerals and Materials for Advanced Energy (CM2AE) Tech Hub and the Kansas City Inclusive Biologics and Biomanufacturing Tech Hub. The aim is to position these regions as global leaders in critical minerals processing and biologics and biomanufacturing, respectively. The initiative is part of a $500 million grant program to expand tech investment beyond major cities and stimulate investments in new technologies. Additionally, President Biden signed a $280 billion bipartisan bill to boost domestic high-tech manufacturing, with a focus on the semiconductor industry.
