Paul Bettany Returns in New Vision Series on Disney+ with 'Picard' EP as Showrunner

Disney+ has greenlit a new standalone show for Marvel's Vision, starring Paul Bettany, set to air in 2026. Terry Matalas will be the showrunner, taking over from WandaVision's Jacqueline Schaeffer. This move aligns with Disney's strategy to reduce the number of Marvel shows per year. Matalas's involvement is good news for Marvel fans but disappointing for Star Trek fans hoping for a new series following the success of Picard's final season.

"Star Trek: Picard" Season Finale Delivers Epic Battle Against the Borg Queen.

The Borg Queen returns in the finale of Star Trek: Picard season 3, voiced by Alice Krige, who played the role in the 1996 film Star Trek: First Contact. The episode sees Picard and Crusher rescue their son from the Borg Cube, where he's found under the influence of the Borg Queen as the new Locutus. Showrunner Terry Matalas confirms that the Borg's return had been planned from the beginning of the season, and the story explores the theme of legacy. The interior of the Borg cube was recreated practically, and the prosthetics for the new Borg Queen were designed by Neville Page and sculpted by Vincent Van Dyke.
