
Jamie Dornan Joins The Lord of the Rings as Aragorn in Hunt for Gollum, Unveiled at CinemaCon
Warner Bros. unveiled The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum at CinemaCon, with Ian McKellen and Elijah Wood returning, Jamie Dornan cast as Strider/Aragorn alongside Kate Winslet as Marigol and Leo Woodall as Halvard. The film, directed by Andy Serkis, chronicles the search for the corrupted Hobbit Gollum in the years before The Fellowship of the Ring and is set for a December 17, 2027 release, with original writers Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens joined by Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou to adapt Tolkien’s work for a broader Middle-earth expansion by New Line Cinema and Amazon-MGM.
