Chuck Russell, the director of The Mask and A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, died at his San Diego-area home on July 22 at age 74. TMZ first reported the death, with Deadline and Variety confirming; the family’s survivors include wife Ania and children Logan, Riley and Carlyn. Russell’s career also included the 1988 The Blob remake, the 1996 film Eraser, and the 2002 hit The Scorpion King, among other projects in film and television.
