Nearly 70,000 Entergy Texas customers were without power as Tropical Storm Edouard made landfall, with more than 1,500 crews in the field working to assess damage and restore service as quickly and safely as possible.
A competitor died during the swim portion of IRONMAN Texas in The Woodlands. The Atascocita Fire Department and Montgomery County Hospital District responded to assist overheated concert-goers, with 16 individuals being transported to nearby hospitals in stable condition.
Strong storms with wind gusts of up to 80 mph caused damage in The Woodlands and north Harris County, including fallen trees and power outages affecting 255,000 people. Residents shared photos and videos of the storm damage, with one woman reporting a tree hitting her home. The National Weather Service reported wind gusts of 80 mph in Spring and 70 mph in The Woodlands.
