Becerra leads California governor race by 27 points as anti-Trump sentiment surges

Xavier Becerra holds a 27-point lead over Steve Hilton in the California governor race, with 61% of likely voters supporting him. "California Senate Race: Schiff and Garvey Neck and Neck in Polls"

A UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies poll co-sponsored by The Los Angeles Times shows Rep. Adam B. Schiff and former Dodgers star Steve Garvey in a tight race for the California Senate primary, with Rep. Katie Porter trailing. Schiff's strategy to highlight Garvey's conservative record seems to have paid off, positioning Garvey as a strong contender for the general election. The poll also indicates a low-turnout, older, and more conservative electorate, potentially favoring Garvey. Additionally, the survey reveals that Gov. Gavin Newsom's Proposition 1 to address homelessness has majority support but faces opposition from a large majority of Republican voters.
