
Derek Carr shifts to UCLA coaching role as special advisor
Former NFL quarterback Derek Carr has joined UCLA's football staff as a special advisor to head coach Bob Chesney, assisting with game-planning and quarterback development. A 11-year veteran with the Raiders and Saints who retired in 2025, Carr brings extensive NFL experience and leadership to the Bruins, including college ties to Fresno State and UCLA staffer Darrick Yray. He expressed excitement about coaching and sharing his knowledge as UCLA prepares for the season.
