U.S. Home Prices Show Signs of Recovery Despite Annual Decline in April.
Home prices in the US increased for the third consecutive month in April, indicating a recovery in values and reflecting a housing market that is undersupplied. The S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller US National Home price index increased by 0.5% in April on a seasonally adjusted basis compared with the previous month, while the Federal Housing Finance Agency reported that average US home prices grew 0.7% month over month in April on a seasonally adjusted basis. However, year over year, the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller national index recorded a 0.2% annual decline in April, the first time since April 2012.
