Gordon Johncock, a two-time winner of the Indianapolis 500 and 1976 USAC National Champion, has died at age 90. The legendary open-wheel driver passed away on September 28, 2026, in South Branch, Michigan. Known for his aggressive driving style and versatility, Johncock competed in 261 Indy car starts, securing 25 victories and 20 pole positions. He is survived by his wife, five children, and numerous grandchildren.
