Massachusetts investigates breast cancer cluster among Uxbridge High School teachers
Massachusetts health officials have launched an investigation into multiple breast cancer diagnoses among teachers at Uxbridge High School. The state Department of Public Health will visit the school to conduct extensive testing—including air quality and building-system reviews—and will look into the medical and genetic histories of the affected teachers to assess common causes, while noting there is no evidence of immediate danger or need to restrict access. Experts say a direct link to the school is unlikely, as breast cancers are often linked to factors like smoking and alcohol rather than rare chemical exposures.
