Chinese scientists at Hebei Medical University have engineered a virus using parts of Ebola to study its symptoms, resulting in the death of hamsters within three days. The study aimed to find animal models that mimic Ebola symptoms safely in a lab setting, using a less dangerous virus engineered to carry Ebola's glycoprotein.
