Ford recalls 148,663 Mustangs for wiring-ground fault; separate recall covers 10,001 vehicles
Ford is recalling 148,663 model-year 2024–2026 Mustangs due to potentially fractured wiring-harness ground connections that could cause loss of drive power or disable systems such as the windshield-washer system, headlights, A/C, or engine cooling fan; repairs are free at dealerships under recall 26C40, with letters mailed Aug. 31. Separately, Ford issued a recall for 10,001 vehicles (26S61) over a piston-dome manufacturing defect that could also cause loss of drive power, affecting 2026 Bronco Sport, Explorer, Mustang, Ranger, and Bronco.
