Falcons Day 7: Padded Practice Sparks Offense, Branch Continues to Shine
Day 7 at Falcons camp featured the second padded practice with full-contact 11-on-11, boosting energy and showing a more balanced offense and run game; Nick Folk went 7-for-7 on field goals including a 51-yard kick after a botched hold, while QB Michael Penix Jr. said he could be cleared any day and Bijan Robinson discussed his extension. Rookie WR Zachariah Branch continued to rise amid veteran support, with Drake London and Jahan Dotson contributing in the receiving corps; Tua Tagovailoa looked near full strength in practice. On defense, Avieon Terrell opened 11-on-11 with an INT, Sydney Brown impressed in the slot, and Ebukam/Thomas provided pressuring help. Injury notes: Jessie Bates III out, CJ Henderson sidelined, Zach Harrison inching back. This was the writer’s final Day at Flowery Branch with more camp coverage to come.
