Iconic Restaurants Across the US Close Permanently After Decades in Business

Sephardic Sisters, a vegan cafe in Uptown, Chicago, has closed after four months, with owners Gina and Andy Kalish opening a new restaurant, Floreen's Chicken & Roost, in its place. The new eatery will serve meat alongside vegan dishes, including butter-roasted chicken, wings, fried chicken sandwiches, rib tips, cheeseburgers and Detroit-style pizzas. All pizzas will be available without meat and dairy. The Kalishes previously operated vegan Mexican pop-up LA/Mex and Longacre pizzeria in the space.
