Pfizer's Oral Weight Loss Drug Shows Promise in Outperforming Competitors.

Pfizer's experimental oral drug, danuglipron, led to faster weight loss than Novo Nordisk's diabetes drug, Ozempic, according to a peer-reviewed study. Patients who took a high dose of Pfizer's drug lost roughly 10 pounds over 16 weeks, while recipients of high-dose Ozempic lost about that much over 30 weeks. Pfizer's drug uses the same mechanism as Ozempic, both mimic a hormone called GLP-1. Novo Nordisk also announced that an oral version of semaglutide helped patients with obesity lose up to 17.4% of their body weight over 68 weeks.
