SpaceX is making over 1,000 changes to its next Starship rocket, including a major change in how the rocket's two stages separate, propulsion system improvements, and a stronger launch pad in South Texas. The modifications should increase the rocket's payload lift capability by roughly 10%. The next test flight is expected in about six weeks, and SpaceX's long-term goal is to replace its Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon crew capsule with the Starship vehicle.
