Invasive bugs to watch for in Kentucky this summer.

Kentucky is facing an invasion of six different species of pests that threaten to destroy forests and harm the state's agriculture industry. The spongy moth, imported fire ant, Asian longhorned tick, spotted lanternfly, Asian longhorned beetle, and emerald ash borer are all either established or gaining a foothold in the state. The public can help by reporting sightings through the University of Kentucky Department of Entomology's website. The key is to find and control these pests before they establish themselves, as eradication becomes much more difficult once they do.
