"8 Habits to Add 24 Years to Your Life, According to Study"

A new study presented at the annual meeting of the American Society for Nutrition found that adopting eight healthy habits, including following a healthy diet, staying physically active, not smoking or vaping, maintaining healthy social relationships, not abusing opioids, having good sleep hygiene, no alcoholism or frequent binge drinking, and reducing stress, could add up to 24 years to your life. The study, which examined the habits and life expectancies of 700,000 U.S. veterans, showed that middle-aged individuals who followed all eight habits were expected to live significantly longer than those who followed none. The American Heart Association also emphasizes similar lifestyle habits for cardiovascular health.
