"Promising Heart Benefits Expected for Lilly's Weight-Loss Drug, Similar to Wegovy"

Leading U.S. obesity specialists believe that Eli Lilly's weight-loss drug Zepbound will likely have similar heart benefits as Novo Nordisk's popular drug Wegovy, as both belong to the same class of medicines known as GLP-1 agonists. Although it will take years for Lilly to produce cardiovascular data, the doctors' views suggest that Wegovy may not have a significant advantage in terms of heart benefits. Both drugs have shown promising results in reducing the incidence of heart-related issues. While some doctors prefer Zepbound due to its greater weight loss efficacy, others opt for Wegovy. The weight-loss drug market is expected to reach $100 billion by the end of the decade.
