The Significance of Genomes in Healthcare

Anne Wojcicki, the co-founder and CEO of 23andMe, believes that the human genome could be healthcare's holy grail. Despite the recent milestone of 20 years since the first complete sequencing of the human genome, Wojcicki is disappointed in the lack of progress around genomics. She believes that genetics can tell us a lot about what we're at risk for and that it should be integrated into medical school training. Wojcicki also revealed that 23andMe is looking into building new partnerships with pharmaceutical companies once its partnership with GlaxoSmithKline ends in July.
