Student Discovers 2 Planets for Senior Thesis

Jack Duranceau, a recent graduate from Dartmouth College, discovered two exoplanets for his senior thesis. Using data from NASA's Transitory Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), Duranceau confirmed the existence of the planets, named TOI 3353b and TOI 3353c. These planets are nearly three times the size of Earth and share traits with ice giant Neptune. Duranceau's research contributes to the growing number of exoplanet discoveries and provides insights into the evolution of planets over time. He plans to continue his research and pursue a Ph.D. in the field.
