Indian researchers at SGBC produced the most detailed brainstem map to date by integrating high‑resolution microscopy with MRI and block-face imaging, slicing samples into thin sections, annotating with in‑house software, and creating a browser‑viewable 3D brainstem model; the dataset could accelerate neurological research into diseases such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, though the paper had not yet undergone peer review at the time of writing.
