Ukraine's 12th Army Aviation Brigade is using Soviet-era attack helicopters to carry out combat tasks against Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The helicopters play a significant role in the fight, firing missiles at Russian trenches and vehicles from a distance where the enemy can't get them with their air defense system. The commander of the brigade would like to fly a newer model with better characteristics, more rockets, and more powerful weapons. Several countries, including the US and UK, have pledged to send or have already sent helicopters to Ukraine as part of military aid since the start of the war.
