Environmental Groups Sue FAA Over SpaceX Starship Launch License

Environmental and wildlife groups, along with the Carrizo/Comecrudo Nation of Texas, have sued the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) over the SpaceX Starship rocket launch in southern Texas, alleging that the agency failed to fully analyze and mitigate the environmental harms resulting from the program at Boca Chica. The launch site is located next to protected species and migratory birds, and the FAA had decided to forego a full environmental review due to proposed mitigation measures, which the plaintiffs say aren't enough to prevent significant environmental harm. The lawsuit calls for a full environmental analysis and for the court to throw out the five-year license granted to SpaceX.
