"Discovery of New Fossilized Shark Species in Mammoth Cave and Alabama"

Two new shark species, Troglocladodus trimblei and Glikmanius careforum, dating back 325 million years, have been discovered in Mammoth Cave National Park and northern Alabama. These ctenacanths, ancient relatives of modern sharks, were found in a fossil bed that existed before the formation of Pangaea. The well-preserved fossils provide insight into the predators' size, diet, and behavior, shedding light on an ancient seaway that connected North America, Europe, and northern Africa.
