"Florida Man and US Professor Break Records for Living Underwater"

University professor Joseph Dituri broke the record for the longest time living underwater without depressurization by residing in Jules’ Undersea Lodge in Key Largo for 74 days. He plans to stay until June 9th to complete an underwater mission dubbed Project Neptune 100, which combines medical and ocean research along with educational outreach. His research includes daily experiments in physiology to monitor how the human body responds to long-term exposure to extreme pressure. During the past 74 days, he has reached more than 2,500 students through online classes in marine science and more with his regular biomedical engineering courses at the University of South Florida.
