Unusual Northern Lights Sightings Across the US

A severe level 4 geomagnetic storm caused by an eruption of the sun led to the rare sighting of the Northern Lights in Arizona. People in Phoenix were able to see the aurora borealis, with some capturing stunning pictures. Experts say that the sun goes through an 11-year cycle, and it will hit a solar maximum in 2024, so we could see this phenomenon a few more times as far south as Arizona over the next two to four years.
