Tornadoes and high winds caused structural damage and left at least two people injured across several states in the Midwest, including Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri. Homes were damaged in Iowa, and there were reports of injuries near Overbrook, Kansas. The University of Iowa issued a tornado warning, and straight-line winds caused damage across parts of the state. Severe weather also knocked down trees and power lines in the Kansas City area and caused tornado damage north of the city in Smithville, Missouri.
