"Chicago Area Hit by Severe Storms and Tornadoes, Cleanup Underway"

Severe storms and a possible tornado caused damage in the western suburbs of Chicago, with reports of downed trees and debris on the roads. While a tornado warning was issued and canceled, an observed tornado was seen over Glen Ellyn. The National Weather Service has yet to confirm additional tornado locations. Although the wind speeds were not as strong as earlier in the week, winds of up to 70 mph were reported. Showers continued into Saturday morning, but no severe weather is expected later in the day. The American Red Cross of Illinois is assisting those in need of housing.
