Des Moines Rainfall Totals Post Wednesday Storms

Storms brought heavy rain to central Iowa on Wednesday, with some areas receiving over four inches of rainfall. Boone and Greene counties received the most rainfall, with Boone recording 4.4 inches and Ames recording 3.3 inches. The Des Moines metro received 2.09 inches of rain. Showers and storms are expected to return on Thursday and Friday night. Despite the rainfall, the National Weather Service's Des Moines office says that typical summer days are ahead.
