Impending Storms Bring Heavy Rainfall and Flood Concerns to Midwest

After a nice Wednesday with sun and near-normal temperatures, rain is expected to move into Minnesota on Thursday and continue into Friday. A storm system developing to the west will bring rain to the southernmost counties, expanding north and northeast throughout the day. The rain will reach the Twin Cities and central Minnesota by late afternoon and places like Brainerd and Duluth overnight. Friday will be a wet day for most of the state, with potential rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches, and isolated amounts of up to 4 inches in southern Minnesota. The storm system has the potential to produce more precipitation than an average fall storm due to high levels of moisture in the air.
