Northeast US hit by powerful late-winter storm, causing power outages and road closures.

A winter storm in the Northeast and an atmospheric river in California are causing travel disruptions, power outages, and flooding. Additional snow is expected in the Northeast, with winter storm warnings in effect until Wednesday afternoon. Parts of northern and central California could see snow accumulations, while the southern part of the state is facing flooding. A swath of the Southeast is also facing freezing conditions. Freeze warnings and advisories are in effect in several states.
