A powerful winter storm has brought heavy snow and high winds to northern New Jersey, causing power outages for thousands of homes and businesses. More than 11,000 outages were reported, with some areas already experiencing 10 inches of snow and more expected. Forecasters are predicting 6 to 12 inches of snow across northern New Jersey, with up to 18 inches possible, and most of the state is under winter storm warnings or advisories. The Jersey Shore is expected to have the highest wind gusts.
