Heavy rain and tropical downpours are expected to bring renewed concerns of flash flooding to parts of New Hampshire. A flood watch is in effect for much of the interior of the state, with warnings in effect for Cheshire County. Widespread flooding of rivers, streams, and roads is expected, particularly in western New Hampshire. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2.5 inches are expected in eastern areas, while the western half of the state could see 2 to 4 inches, with some spots potentially receiving up to 8 inches. Drivers are urged to avoid flooded roadways and seek alternate routes.
