Severe storms expected to hit multiple states this weekend.

A storm system is approaching St. Louis from the west, with a few showers or storms possible in the morning. Storms are expected to develop ahead of a cold front this afternoon and merge into a line, bringing a threat of large hail and high winds. The tornado threat is lower compared to previous severe weather events. Behind the system, much colder temperatures and wrap-around showers are expected, with a few snowflakes possible. Temperatures will rebound early next week with rain and storm chances increasing mid to late week.
