Severe storms hit Chicago area with tornado warnings and damage reported.

A line of intense storms raced through the Chicago area, leaving damage and flooding in their wake. The National Weather Service warned of a "particularly dangerous situation" with the potential for intense tornadoes to develop across Iowa and Illinois. One person was killed and 28 people were injured when the roof collapsed at the Apollo Theater in far northwest suburban Belvidere during the severe weather outbreak. As of 9:45 p.m., 61,073 customers are without power. Air travel in Chicago is being affected by the severe weather.
