Severe Storms Threaten Gulf Coast with Tornadoes, Flooding, and Power Outages

A turbulent storm system is causing severe weather across the Gulf Coast, with Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle facing the highest risks of dangerous weather, including possible tornadoes and hurricane-force winds. Over 150,000 energy customers are without power, and more than 4 million people are under a tornado watch. The storm is expected to cause weak destabilization over Alabama and the Florida Panhandle, with densely-populated parts of southeastern Texas also at risk. The severe weather has already caused flooding and damage in some areas.
