Severe weather alert: Large hail and strong winds expected in Colorado.

Isolated thunderstorms are expected in Southern Colorado this afternoon, with a potential for severe weather tonight. Supercell thunderstorms are expected to develop between 9 pm and 2 am, with hail as large as 2-3" in diameter, 60-70 mph wind gusts, heavy rainfall, and isolated tornadoes. The Pikes Peak Region is at risk for an outbreak type of event. The worst of the weather is expected to miss Pueblo to the north, with the biggest impacts expected to hit the Pikes Peak Region. Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected on Thursday, with some reaching severe criteria.
