Severe weather outbreak brings multiple tornadoes to Alabama and Georgia.

Multiple tornadoes have been reported in the South as a severe weather outbreak continues, with a dangerous evening of violent storms predicted. A heat wave is also building in Texas, with temperatures forecast to soar to near 100 degrees in many spots. The National Weather Service has issued numerous tornado warnings throughout the afternoon, mainly in southeast Alabama and southwest Georgia, with a tornado watch in effect for large portions of both states. A derecho, a long-lived, high wind and torrential rain thunderstorm event, is also possible.
