Severe weather threatens multiple states with tornadoes, hail, and damaging winds.

Severe weather is expected to hit Iowa later today, with the highest risk for tornadoes and damaging winds in the eastern portion of the state. Storms may start as early as 3 p.m. and could continue into the overnight hours. The storms could bring hail and embedded spin-up tornado threats. Much of central Iowa has either a slight or enhanced risk, while further north and west there is a marginal risk.
