"Western New York Braces for Weekend Return of Lake-Effect Snow"

Lake effect snow is currently affecting northern Oswego County and the Tug Hill region, with radar estimates indicating up to 3 feet of snow so far. The snow warnings for counties east of Lake Ontario will be dropped at 7pm tonight, after an additional 12"+ of snow falls on the Oswego/Jefferson County line. Light snow flurries are expected in the Syracuse area this afternoon, with a slightly heavier round of snow likely on Friday. Northerly winds on Saturday may bring a few more inches of snow and drop wind chills near or below zero. However, warming temperatures and some sunshine are expected to return at the start of next week.
