Winter Storm Brings Travel Delays and Heavy Snowfall to Midwest

A snowstorm system that dumped up to 28 inches of snow in the Rockies is expected to move through the Plains and Midwest, affecting post-Thanksgiving travel. Winter weather alerts are in effect for over 8 million people, with several inches of snow possible in areas from northern Texas Panhandle to northwest Illinois. Cities like Wichita, Topeka, Kansas City, Chicago, and Milwaukee could experience accumulating snow and travel disruptions. The heaviest snowfall is forecasted in central Kansas, while lighter snow is expected in northern Missouri, northern Illinois, Wisconsin, and western Michigan. Snowfall is also predicted for the interior Northeast and areas downwind of Lake Erie.
