Winter Weather Update: Snow Chances and El Niño's Impact on Christmas Forecast

New Orleans and most of the U.S. are unlikely to have a white Christmas this year, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association. The forecast predicts above-average temperatures in southeast Louisiana, with temperatures ranging between 47 and 64 degrees from December 19-25. New Orleans has only had two white Christmases in the last 100 years, with trace amounts of snow in 1953 and half an inch in 2004. Snow is more common in January or February in the area.
