Wisconsin Tornado Leaves Extensive Damage Across Appleton Area

A radar-indicated tornado touched down in Winnebago County, Wisconsin, around 12:25 p.m. Monday, moving across Lake Winnebago toward Fond du Lac County. Images showed destroyed buildings, smashed vehicles, and downed trees, with thousands losing power. Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson said there was extensive and severe damage and urged residents to stay put as severe weather and possible hail were expected to continue through the afternoon. No fatalities or injuries were confirmed in the first hours after the storm, and the incident affected Appleton, Menasha and nearby areas.
