2023 Solar Eclipse: Watch In-Person or Virtually

A rare "ring of fire" annular solar eclipse will be visible from eight US states on October 14, 2023, marking the first time such an event will be seen in North America. While a partial solar eclipse will be visible across the Americas, the ring of fire will only be visible within a narrow path for a few minutes. Unlike a total solar eclipse, an annular eclipse does not result in darkness or the "black hole sun" effect, but instead creates a remarkable ring of fire. The path of annularity begins in Oregon and crosses several US states before moving across Mexico and Central and South America. Those unable to witness the event in person can watch livestreams online.
