"Comet ZTF to Illuminate Night Skies in 2023"

Scientists have discovered a new comet, C/2023 A3 or Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, which is expected to appear brighter than some stars in the night sky. The comet will make its closest approach to the sun on September 28, 2024, and to Earth on October 13, 2024. It may become visible with amateur telescopes in June 2024 and should be visible low in the sky at dawn in early October, and shining brightly high in the evening sky in late October.
